Review request emails: when to ask, and how to get more replies
Ask after the order arrives, make it one tap, remind once or twice, and reward every review — not only the good ones.
Ask after it arrives
Ask a few days after delivery, not after the order is placed — people can only review what they’ve used. For things that take time to judge, like skincare or a mattress, wait longer.
Make it one tap
Show each product with its picture and tappable stars. Tapping a star opens the review form with that rating already chosen, so the hardest part — starting — is done.
Let people review the whole order in one go, and your store as well, instead of one email per product.
Remind, gently
One or two reminders a few days apart catch people who meant to reply. Stop once they’ve reviewed, and stop after the last reminder either way.
Reward honestly
A small thank-you — a code or loyalty points — encourages more reviews. Give it for every genuine review, positive or not. Rewarding only good reviews is misleading to other customers and breaks the rules of review platforms such as Google.
Close the loop
Reply to reviews, especially critical ones; the reviewer gets your reply by email. When a review is published, a short “your review is live” note makes people more likely to review again.
